Paradise Park News & Updates

Tax Assessment Notices

Some Owners may have received a 2015 Property Tax Assessment notice for their Lot. This assessment is only for the “buildings” on the lot and is the owner’s responsibility.   BC Assessment has said that a copy of this assessment gets sent to the owner and the Lessees Association. Mailing of the Lessee’s copy to the owner is an oversight as in previous years this copy has never been sent.

The Paradise Park Lessees Association receives a Property Tax Assessment notice for the entire Park excluding the “buildings” on the Lots. These taxes are paid by the Park and are included in your annual maintenance dues.

Library and Rose Garden Update

The library at the clubhouse has been re-organized:  some old books removed and some new books (New to Us), added. I don't think there's a "Library Committee", but a thank You to those who helped with the chore, is in order. Thanks as well to everyone who donates their soft-cover books to our collection. It was good to hear many complimentary comments on the Park library.

Rose Garden Volunteers have been very dedicated this year and in spite of the extremely hot weather, the roses have responded with blooms, color, and fragrance.  We owe a Big Thank You to the Rose Garden Workers.

Parking and Director on Duty

It looks like we will a have a beautiful weekend coming up followed by a week of hot weather. The pool is waiting and the chairs are ready to be lounged in! Wanted everyone to know that, as you think about coming up to Paradise Park, Grizzly Excavating is busy installing new storm sewers between Lakeshore Drive and Solana Key Court. At this time they are trenching directly in front of the driveway at Paradise. While access is still open to the Park, there is no parking available in the frontage area. If you have more than one vehicle, you will need to consider other parking options. Please note however, these options do not include parking in other OWNER’S parking areas (unless permission has been granted) as a common courtesy. As well, please note, as stated by the Park By-Laws, lots 57-70, 10 & 17 are the only sites that are allowed their vehicles parked on the road in front of their sites (again, common courtesy applies).

Also, if you need to talk to a Director over the summer, in the Club House on the bulletin board is a schedule of who is on duty over these busy months. For example, this weekend Tom Cummins, from lot 52 has volunteered to be on duty. Just a reminder that if you have a complaint, could you please put it in writing and sign it, so the Board can review it. This should be done for suggestions as well.

Thank you and see you soon,
Brenda Ens
Secretary

Storm Sewer Excavating

Grizzly Excavating will be installing a new storm sewer beginning Tues. June 17th until some time in July. During this time there may be disruptions in accessing the park and roadway when they are digging the trench directly infront of the park. Please see the letter below for more details.

Recycling

Paradise Park has 2 sheds for recycling, located on the path to the beach. The shed closest to the road is for pop cans, beer cans, and any containers that have a deposit when you purchase them. The second shed closest to the beach is for other materials that can be recycled but no deposit has been paid on them. For a full list of what can be recycled go to Return It.

The recycle shed is manned by volunteers, so please keep it neat, tidy and organized.
