Paradise Park News

Hi Owners,

By now, all Owners should have received their Tax Notices for the year 2015, either by mail or e-mail.  If not, please call the town of Osoyoos town office and ask to speak to Phyllis. http://www.osoyoos.ca/content/contact-us

As many of you are aware, there has been confusion around tax notices this year, with some Owners receiving their notices by mail, and others not.   The Board of Directors has been in contact with Phyliss from the Osoyoos town tax department in trying to rectify and sort through this problem.   As you know, in the past, annual tax notices went directly to the Owners.  This year however, the BC government department responsible for property assessments, changed the way they did their notices and in general it has caused confusion with many municipalities, including Osoyoos.  The Osoyoos tax department has been working to rectify this error and is personally contacting each and every owner within Paradise Park to make sure they receive their tax notice. The Board of Directors has helped by supplying emails or phone numbers as required so that Owners can get their taxes and meet the July 2nd, 2015 deadline for payment.

There was a misunderstanding by a few that the tax notices were sent to the office at Paradise Park; however this was incorrect.  The park only received notices for their own records, and they vary slightly than what an Owner receives.

I hope this helps to clarify what was a confusing and different situation.  Thanks for you understanding, patience, and encouragement in helping the Board clear up this situation.

Recycling

Paradise Park has 2 sheds for recycling, located on the path to the beach. The shed closest to the road is for pop cans, beer cans, and any containers that have a deposit when you purchase them. The second shed closest to the beach is for other materials that can be recycled but no deposit has been paid on them. For a full list of what can be recycled go to Return It.

The recycle shed is manned by volunteers, so please keep it neat, tidy and organized.
